Transformational Speaker and Best Selling Author @Kute Blackson  joined me to talk about his new book "The Magic of Surrender." It's a book about tapping into our own magic by letting go and allowing our own magic to unfold in our lives. The book shows how surrender is a key factor in the lives of so many great people throughout history.  Our conversation encourages people to follow their soul to allow the Universe to support them. His core beliefs and knowing were shaped by many pivotal events. His father was a miraculous healer and leader of 300 churches. From an early age Kute watched him heal the blind, and the crippled walk. This opened his mind to the concept that there are no limits and everything is possible.  

His mother was Japanese and his Father from Ghana. He was close to his mother who got cancer when he was just starting to thrive in the United States. He realized the value of every moment spending a week every month with her to help her with her treatments. Unfortunately she lost her battle and her courage and knowing that the soul is eternal and the body is just a garment for the soul showed Kute what freedom really looks like. There was no fear, just acceptance, she was calm and ready for the next part of her soul journey.  Kute wanted to translate the concept of surrender to help others find freedom and the magic it creates.  

Surrender is not just waiting doing nothing, it's not an excuse for non action. You feel your deepest truth then align with it. His work has allowed him to awaken and inspire people across the globe to access their own inner freedom, live authentically, and fulfill their true life purpose. Surrender is letting go of control, making aligned choices, and moving forward when inspired and also pausing when necessary to allow events to unfold.   There were some differences and conflicts between Kute and his father when he told him he wouldn't take over his ministry at the age of 18. They didn't speak for a couple years. During this time there was a lot of inner work and healing happening as Kute journeyed to India, Thailand, Spain (to walk the Camino) and focused on building his own mindfulness practice.  

He did a lot of inner work to face his anger towards his father and heal all the emotions around their relationship fracturing. When he was ready, he released all his expectations and decided he would unconditionally love his father regardless of his past. They have since healed their relationship in a beautiful way.
